36 stunning beaches make up part of St Maarten's 70km coastline. These beaches are all magnificent of course but there are a hand full that are a bit more special. See our top 3 beaches you should check out in St Maarten.
1. Maho Beach
Maho Beach is by far the most popular beach in St Maarten. This is where the airlines fly mere feet over head. There are very few places in the world where you would get this kind of experience so Maho Beach definitely sticks out in St Maarten for this reason.
St Maarten has alot to offer, so much so that it can be difficult narrowing down a few select things to do especially if you are short on time. I have compiled a short list of my current favourite things I like when I am in St Maarten.
British Virgin Island based airline interCaribbean Airways from 9th February has resumed its St Maarten to Tortola flights.
The very popular hotel Grand Case Beach Club is making a comeback as it has recently announced its reopening on 1st October 2018.
Locally based airline St Maarten airline Winair is introducing new flights for late February 2018.
These new destinations will be a flight to Curacao daily and flights to Santo Domingo five times a week. Their ATR42 aircraft will be handling these flights and is set to start on 26th February 2018.

Since the passing of Hurricane Irma the island of St Maarten has been slowly recovering many of its lost flight providers. One of those providers was Westjet which very early after the hurricane stopped flights to the island.
It comes as welcome news that Westjet will launch flights from Toronto to St Maarten from April 23rd, and every Saturday thereafter. After the hurricane St Maarten has had to depend overwhelming on cruise passengers. With the steady stream of airlines now returning to the island shows confidence in its recovery and its ability to offer overnight availability for guests.

Dutch side versus French side Philipsburg versus Marigot this is a rivalry on the island that has no winner because depending on who you speak to you, you will get a different declared winner every time.
Reality is both sides offer a different experience and cater to a specific kind of traveller. Its almost like do you prefer lazy sunny sandy vacations in the tropics?or do you prefer adrenaline fueled sking vacations in the Alps or Aspen which comes down solely to individual preference.
For example I love the chilled French Creole Caribbean vibe enjoying a freshly baked croissant in the morning and a glass of wine in the evening. That is well my thing which is not doing a thing lounging on one of beaches like Orient Beach or Baie Rouge some of my favs.
Marigot meets my shopping needs without the crowds and Grand Case satisfies my hunger for French cuisine and creole cuisine from establishments like Ti Coin Creole and Ocean 82
